FESTIVAL LOCATION

This exciting southern city provides many worthwhile educational and historic sightseeing opportunities, including the Cyclorama and Underground Atlanta, CNN Center, and Coca Cola downtown. The Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Martin Luther King Museum are in Atlanta. Stone Mountain and the Laser Light Show provides an exciting afternoon and evening activity, and Six Flags over Georgia is nearby. A baseball game if the Atlanta Braves are in town is always a treat!

PERFORMANCE TIMES

The times shown are representative of past festival schedules. Actual times cannot be set until the number of participating schools and specific events have been determined. You will receive a general schedule 45 days prior to the event, and an exact performance schedule 3 weeks prior. The time of your performance will depend on your grade of music and the number of groups participating in each class.

Atlanta Convention & Visitor's Bureau
The visitor's center will provide an introduction to the many attractions available in the area, pointing out historical and cultural points of interest.
CNN Center Studio Tour
Daily studio tours are available of this dramatic complex of shops, hotels, and the headquarters of Turner Broadcasting and Cable News Network. (Admission charged and reservation required)
Cyclorama
An immense painting in the round of the 1864 Civil War Battle of Atlanta. Completed in 1885, it has been embellished over the years with three-dimensional figures, sound and lighting effects, narration and a rotating seating platform. (Admission charged and reservation required)
The Fox Theater
An entertainment palace built in 1929 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Fox is decorated with minarets, onion domes, crenelated parapets, and is a pure fantasy of Egyptian - Art Deco artwork. (Admission charged and reservation required)
Six Flags Over Georgia
The Southeast's premiere theme park offering more than 100 rides, shows and attractions. Experience thrill rides such as the Mind Bender and Thunder River, or relax to the quiet motion of the Riverview Carousel.. (Admission Charged)
Stone Mountain Park
Stone Mountain is the largest mass of granite in the world and features a sculpture of Confederate heroes. This 3200 acre park includes activities such as swimming, boat rides, an authentic Steam Train, hiking trails, museums, and a musical laser light show in the evenings. (Modest bus parking fee -Admission charged to individual attractions)
World of Coca-Cola Pavilion
Adjacent to Underground Atlanta, a one-of-a-kind collection of 100 years of Coca-Cola memorabilia. Highlighting the story of Coca-Cola is a spectacular futuristic soda fountain. (Admission charged)
Centennial Olympic Park
This unique 21-acre park performs a dual mission: it serves as Georgia's lasting legacy of the Centennial Olympic Games and it anchors efforts to revitalize residential and commercial development in Georgia's capital city of Atlanta.
The Varsity
Famous for their red-shirted servers which use their own lingo- F.O. and a naked dog walking which means a frosted orange drink and a plain hot dog to go.
Zoo Atlanta
Offers a wide range of educational programs which combine conservation, research and recreation.
Underground Atlanta
Located in the Heart of Downtown, Underground Atlanta is bustling with activity, day or night. Enjoy daily entertainment by Atlantas talented residents, caricature drawings and fortune telling, homemade candy, delicious dining and souvenir shopping. Atlanta Braves Baseball Club
